Advanced Defensive Rifle & Pistol Training for Law Enforcement
This course is designed to enhance Officer proficiency, confidence and effectiveness with Patrol Rifles and Duty Pistols in high-stress environments. This course is structured to reinforce real-world defensive application without addressing use-of-force policies, ensuring a focus on firearms handling and tactical efficiency. This is a multi-day class with classroom and range time.
Requirements
This class must be hosted by a Law Enforcement Agency, which will be responsible for providing both the classroom and range. However, for agencies willing to travel to Ares Training Facility in Leesburg, FL, Viking 6 Tactical will cover the range fees for the training.
Student Equipment Requirements:
Participants must bring:

Full duty gear, including a plate carrier or tactical vest

A minimum of three magazines per firearm

A two-point sling

At least 300 rounds per student

Training tourniquet (TQ) and pressure bandages
Cost & Travel Fees:

For classes held within 1 hour of Sumter County, FL, there is no setup or travel fee.

For classes over 1 hour away, a $200 minimum travel fee applies (does not include airfare, lodging, or meals).

The class requires a minimum of 10 students at $100 per student.

Day 1 - Classroom, Defensive Shooting
This comprehensive 6-hour class is designed to enhance officer proficiency and readiness through structured classroom and practical exercises.
Morning Session (3 Hours)

Defensive Mindset – Developing situational awareness and tactical decision-making.

Stance & Grip – Optimizing control and accuracy for defensive shooting.

Practical Exercises – Hands-on drills using unloaded firearms with chamber blocks to reinforce technique and muscle memory.

Afternoon Session (3 Hours)

Magazine Placement & Setup – Optimizing duty belt and vest loadout for efficiency.

Sling Setup & Manipulation – Adjusting and utilizing two-point slings for quick deployment and control.

Home Training Techniques – Practical tips for dry-fire drills and technology-assisted training, including Mantis, Ace VR, and other dry-fire tools to enhance skill retention.
This course provides a strong foundation in defensive firearm handling and tactical efficiency, ensuring officers leave with valuable, real-world skills they can immediately apply.
Day 2 - Classroom, First Aid
This 6-hour class provides essential training in trauma care and life-saving interventions, combining classroom instruction with hands-on practical exercises.
Morning Session (3 Hours) – Stop the Bleed & Trauma Care

Gunshot Wound & Traumatic Injury Care – Understanding wound management and life-saving techniques.

CPR & AED Use – Proper techniques for cardiac emergencies.

Heat Injury Recognition & Treatment – Identifying and responding to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Building a Trauma Kit – Essential components and customization for law enforcement and personal use.
Lunch Break (1 Hour)

Afternoon Session (3 Hours) – Hands-On Practical Exercises

Tourniquet Application – Proper placement and use for arterial bleeding.

Pressure Bandage Application – Techniques for controlling severe bleeding.

CPR & AED Drills – Hands-on practice with real-world scenarios.

Managing Heat Injuries – Cooling techniques and hydration strategies.

Field Expedient Casualty Transport – Safe and efficient methods for moving injured individuals in tactical or emergency situations.
This course equips students with critical life-saving skills to effectively respond to medical emergencies in high-stress environments.
Day 3 - Range Day
This 6-hour live-fire range course is designed to enhance weapon handling, magazine management, and defensive shooting skills through structured drills and practical application.
Morning Session – Magazine Manipulation & Weapon Transitions (3 Hours)

Magazine Change Drills – Repeated iterations of reloads to refine efficiency.

Gear Optimization – Adjusting loadout placement for smoother transitions.

Weapon Transition Drills – Practicing rifle-to-pistol transitions under stress.

Movement to Cover – Engaging while moving to cover and performing reloads.
⚠️ Note: Students must bring their own lunch and drinks, as we will not take a dedicated lunch break—students will eat during downtime between drills.
Afternoon Session – Live-Fire Defensive Shooting (3 Hours)

Weapon Malfunction Drills – Identifying and clearing stoppages efficiently.

Buddy Team Safety Drills – Students will pair up, with two acting as safeties during exercises.
